Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program

In the last two years, there have been 112-120 homeless Youth and Young Adults (YYA) ages 18 years old to 24 years old in the state of Maine. (Numbers taken from the 2019 & 2020 Point in Time count done by The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) done every January).

Please note: Due to the pandemic these numbers are believed to be higher than reported

The Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) pairs unaccompanied youth and young adults who are experiencing literal or imminent homelessness or fleeing domestic violence, with stable housing through the use of a Housing Choice Voucher.
