About Camp POSTCARD?

How are kids nominated for camp? Girls and boys in the 5th / 6th grade are nominated by their school resource officers or school counselors who work with their local police departments. These dedicated officers and counselors know the kids in their schools that would benefit most from a summer camp adventure.

Who are the camp counselors? Volunteer sheriffs, troopers, municipal officers, first responders, and the fire fighters all come together from across Maine to act as positive role models. Kids gain a different perspective of the first responders when they return to their communities. Additionally, officers learn more about the kids they see in their in their daily work lives and create better skills to work with them.

What happens at camp? Every June, children from across Maine counties join with 80 law enforcement volunteers for a week of exploration, healthy activities, outdoor recreation, and bond together.
