Helping America's Most Vulnerable

UNE's Day of Service

The University of New England - Biddeford Campus sent students to organizations throughout York County on Saturday, October 15 as part of their Day of Service. We were fortunate enough to be the recipients of their goodwill and buoyant energies.

Volunteers of America welcomed three wonderful UNE students (Bridget Duff, Brian Fellenstein, and Victoria Gajdzinski) to our Beach Street House in Saco. They were eager to pitch in with many tasks.

They happily painted the front room, cleaned windows, washed the outside walls, and cleaned inside the house. Rob Herrick, Residential Counselor at Beach Street, worked alongside the students.

Program Manager Dawn Mills said, "We are so thankful and pleased with their work. One of our residents even joined them in the painting."

We are very thankful to UNE and the dedication of student volunteers supporting our work to improve the lives and homes of residents.
