Mainebiz Forum Executive Insights

this year's topic was Workforce Development

The Annual Mainebiz Executive Insights Forum was held today at Bowdoin College in Brunswick. The topic was how private business is working with workforce development resources to find the employees they need to succeed.

Our own Human Resources Generalist, Lauren Danie-Briggs, was there to ask questions.

Among the panelists were Carolyn Brodsky, president of Sterling Rope; Rebecca Lamey, Chief Human Resources Officer for the MaineGeneral Health System; Robert Sansone, Chief Human Resources Officer for Tyler Technologies; Larry Shaw, President and CEO of MMG Insurance; and Pat Weigel, CEO of Norway Savings Bank.

The moderator was Ed Cervone, Executive Director of Educate Maine, a business-led education advocacy group.

Forums like these are very useful to organizations like Volunteers of America, not only for the topics that are covered and the resources we are able to share with other similar organizations, but also for the valuable network we are able to build.

Thanks to Mainebiz for hosting, and the sponsors who made it possible: Vistage, Bar Harbor Bank and Trust, JobsInMaine and the University of Maine system.
