Day Two: Help Us Purchase Grocery Gift Cards for Seniors
Twenty Days of Giving in Northern New England
Every month in Northern New England, seniors wait for their social security checks to arrive.
For some, this is their only income, and they must make difficult decisions between paying for food or medicines, or keeping current with utility bills. In addition, SNAP (food stamp) benefits have been consistently decreasing over the past several years.
Seniors who live in our affordable housing communities help each other out when they can, and food pantry donations and grocery gift cards go a long way to supplementing the very narrow margins of many seniors' budgets
