Helping America's Most Vulnerable

July / August Greetings from June Koegel, CEO

This is so obvious in the work we are doing in providing safe homes and hope for those we serve with severe and persistent mental illness. The quality of the care and the integrity of the clinical model is what sets us apart. Our employees on the front lines have huge hearts and a commitment to serving individuals that society has forgotten or given up on. There is a quote by Harriet Beecher Stowe that exemplifies the difference each of you are making with your tenacity and enduring advocacy:

"When you get into a tight space, and everything goes against you till it seems as if you couldn't hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that's just the place and time the tide'll turn."

In addition to our incredible employees there are hundreds of volunteers, donors and champions who help us to do this work. Your support makes it possible to provide the extra things, like community outings, pizza parties, cook-outs, camping trips, etc., that enrich the lives of these men and women.

You have helped us to create beautiful flower gardens and raised beds, outdoor living spaces for summer activities and sensory rooms to aid in their quality of life. Your donations make it possible to give them the life they so richly deserve. Their struggles with mental illness are something many of us will never understand but the action we can take to ease their difficulties and create a sense of HOME are certainly within our grasp.

Thank you for the many donations and volunteer hours many of you have given us. We could never do this work without your help and support.

June
