PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly) is a nationally
recognized program of community-based healthcare for seniors. It was created in San Francisco in the 1970s by On Lok Senior Health Services, a nonprofit citizensʼ organization.
Proven Services
Today, there are more than 60 active PACE programs for seniors
across the U.S. In northern New England, Volunteers of America offers PACE services in the Colchester and Rutland areas of Vermont — including a continuum of options for seniors with chronic care needs, with the aim of helping them maintain their independence at home and in the community for as long as possible:
- Adult day care with nursing
- Physical, occupational, and recreational therapy
- Meals and nutritional counseling
- Social work and personal care
- Medical care by a PACE physician who knows the participant
- Home healthcare and personal care
- Prescription drugs
- Social services
- Audiology, dentistry, optometry, podiatry, speech therapy,
- and other specialty care
- Respite care
- Hospital and nursing home care when needed
