Mediation Training

40-hour certificate training

Want to add mediation skills to your professional tool kit?

Our 40-hour certificate training is designed for mediation newcomers and professionals in other fields wishing to add mediation skills to their tool kit. The training meets the most commonly accepted state and national standards for entry-level mediators. It is the prerequisite for doing community mediation and for taking advanced trainings for court-related mediation.

We also offer the other trainings needed for serving on
court rosters as a trained mediator as well as more advanced professional training.

Led by award-winning mediator and long-time trainer Nancy Markowitz, the class includes
comprehensive training in basic conflict management and mediation skills through lectures,
discussions and experiential work. Upon successful completion of the course, participants
receive a certificate that is the state and national standard for new mediators.

Who should attend The course is designed for people who are interested in learning to
manage conflict more effectively in their personal and professional lives or for anyone
wishing to become a professional mediator. Participants typically include attorneys,
educators, counselors, social workers, law enforcement officials, housing managers, and
other professionals in business, government, human resources, and human services.

Custom-tailored classes for businesses, nonprofit organizations, and other specialized
groups are available upon request. CEU’s and CLE’s are available.

Cost $775. Three sessions per year are offered.
