“It’s not going to be easy…I’ll admit that. I’ve made mistakes and I’ve learned from them. I never dreamed this could happen to me. But it has and I’m determined to change my life. For myself and for my children. I need help now. It’s so hard for me to ask, but it’s the truth. However, I will never forget. Some day, I’m going to be the one helping others. You can count on it as I am counting on you!” Shayna, Age 22

Your support will make an important difference in people's lives.

Woman praying.jpgEach year, thanks to the support of donors like you, Volunteers of America Northern New England touches the lives of those who need us the most.  Today, your kindness and generosity will be a welcome gift to a man, woman or child in need in the communities we serve. Your gift may provide such basic human necessities as shelter and food, or such life-renewing assistance as rehabilitation and counseling.

Your gift will be more than a hand-out or a quick fix. Instead, you will be supporting programs and services that encourage positive development, foster independence and promote the type of self-sufficiency that can change someone's life. When you support the work of Volunteers of America you make a difference in our community — one person at a time.

Your gift can take many forms, depending on your personal choice. We appreciate gifts of money, service, items such as vehicles (cars, trucks, RVs and boats), supplies, and expertise.

While unrestricted gifts allow us to choose who will benefit, you may also designate your gift for a special purpose or program.

With your help, we will continue to help people in many ways, including:

  • Make dreams come true for Maine children at our free summer camp program named Camp P.O.S.T.C.A.R.D. (Police Officers Striving To Create And Reinforce Dreams)
  • Provide safe, affordable housing and vital independence for our seniors and for people living with mental illness.
  • Ensure that we are always there for at-risk juveniles and adults who are determined to turn their lives around
  • Provide the personal support and basic essentials necessary for men and women to successfully transition from prison back into their families and communities, and
  • Deliver other important services and support.
