Save the Date: National Press Club Focuses on Veterans' Issues

On Tuesday, May 8, Volunteers of America will host public simulcasts in Maine of an important National Press Club panel discussion on “After the Uniform: Serving the Veterans Who Served Us.” The simulcasts will be held in two locations in Maine and feature panel discussions with local experts at each location. Both are open to the public and free of charge. The simulcast will be broadcast at the University of Southern Maine and the Bangor Savings Bank G. Clifton Eames Learning Center in Bangor.

Camp POSTCARD Volunteer Inspired to Return in 2012

Alissa Dirrigl doesn't hesitate when asked if she'll volunteer again this year at Camp POSTCARD. "I've already signed up," she says. Senator Snow Impressed with Volunteer-based Free Tax Prep Program

The York County Creating Assets, Savings and Hope Coalition was pleased to introduce Senator Olympia Snowe to the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program in January during a volunteer training at York County Community Action agency. The VITA program is offered by nine CA$H Maine coalitions statewide and is supported by a VITA grant from the IRS, which is fiscally managed by Volunteers of America.
