Because Music Matters – 18 Area Bands Performed on Saturday April 7th
Have you ever dreamt of being on stage, performing live in front of screaming fans, the sound of music you have created surrounding you, adrenaline rushing, faces a blur…
This dream will became a reality for 18 high school aged bands that competed at the “2007 Battle of the Bands." Students in the bands came from towns in Sagadahoc County, as well as Brunswick. Musical styles range from straight up punk to Christian rock, from jazz to acoustic.
The concert will took place at the Bath Middle School and prizes were awarded to winning bands. Prizes are made possible by donations from local businesses and admission fees. For more information, please contact 207-373-1140 or visit www.cuzmusicmatters.com.
Special thanks go to the host of the event, the Sagadahoc Community Justice Project, which is a partnership between dedicated volunteers, community agencies and law enforcement. The Justice Project is supported by the U.S. Department of Justice, Weed & Seed. Locally the program is administered by Volunteers of America Northern New England, which is a nonprofit organization that provides local human service programs, and opportunities for individual and community involvement.
