The Richard Brown House in Loudon, New Hampshire has Dedication Ceremony

We are excited to open our newest affordable senior housing community in Loudon, New Hampshire.  We have also opened one in Topsham, Maine and are beginning construction soon in Bangor, Maine.  More>

The Grantsmanship Center’s signature Grantsmanship Training Program coming to Bath, Maine, October 6-10   

The program will be hosted by Volunteers of America Northern New England. To ensure personalized attention, class size is limited to 30 participants. The Grantsmanship Training Program is a comprehensive, hands-on workshop that covers the complete grant development process, from researching funding sources to writing and reviewing grant proposals.  More than 110,000 nonprofit and government personnel have attended this fast-paced, five-day workshop, which is followed with a full year of membership support services. Cops and Commerce Golf Tournament Shines for a Great Cause 

We would like to thank everyone who joined us for this year's Cops and Commerce Golf Tournament held at the Brunswick Golf Club. It was our pleasure to have you, your friends and colleagues join us for a fun and truly unique day of golf.  As always, the highlight was our famous $1,000,000 shootout!  Proceeds from the day help make dreams come true for fifth and sixth graders from all Maine Counties at Camp POSTCARD (Police Officers Striving to Create and Reinforce Dreams). More>

3,000 Free Scholastic Books to be Given Away at Seadogs Game

Volunteers of America Northern New England and our partner Literacy Volunteers of Maine gave away 3,000 free Scholastic Books for Family Literacy Day with the Portland Sea Dogs at Hadlock Field. More>

Major League Baseball Players Provide a $10,000 Grant to Help Women Leaving Prison

The Major League Baseball Players Trust has provided a $10,000 grant for its “Women Building Futures” program.  The grant is designed to help Maine women gain important construction skills that will allow them to earn a livable wage when they leave prison.  The grant was announced in New Orleans during Volunteers of America’s national conference, where the Players Trust awarded grants totaling $100,000 to support Volunteers of America programs in 10 locations across the United States.  More>

WTOS Radio Rock Relief Concert Sponsored by Bangor Savings Bank Benefits Camp POSTCARD

Our great partners ClearChannel Communications, WTOS Radio and Bangor Savings Bank sponsored a concert to benefit Camp POSTCARD.  The concert took place on the main stage of the Bangor State Fair. The bands playing were Civil Disturbance, Twisted Roots, Vegas Temper, Lost on Liftoff and Prospect Hill.  These bands and the entire crew donated their time to make this possible!  All proceeds will be used to send deserving Maine 5th and 6th graders to free summer camp.  Thank you ClearChannel, WTOS Mountain of Rock, Bangor Savings Bank, the bands, the Bangor Fair, the Maine Sheriffs' Association, The Maine D.A.R.E. Officer's Association, and concert attendees and everyone else who helped make this possible.  More>
